It Really Doesn't Matter - Poetry

It really doesn't matter

Ten, twenty, one hundred years from now.

The only thing you really have is now.

All else is like smoke.

The past is an inaccurate memory,

The future is an incomplete imagination.

Live life to the fullest now

It's only what you have that counts.

The Earth could be hit by a giant asteroid,

It's how it all began.

Who says it's going to last forever,

You must know it's all a cosmic joke.

Live, love, and be happy

It all really doesn't matter.

The African Politician - Poetry

 The African Policktrician

A very interesting personality

The sorrow of a people.

Ethically bankrupt and diseased

Its level of physical self-destruction is appalling,

All in the name of power.

He poisons herself daily

Believing in one spiritual con man or the other.

Even though it has stolen billions

SHe is still a pauper.

This strange condition is guaranteed

By the poverty of its soul.

It has an ego the size of a cathedral,

Yet with the fragility of an overblown balloon.

Since it can be reduced to nothingness

By the tiny pin-prick of the truth.

Then it is exposed for all to see

The joke that has destitute millions.

An accident of fate

Where the worst elements in society

Are the custodians of its power.

Thus it’s exposed for all to see

A very interesting personality

The sorrow of a people.

LET IT ALL GO - (POETRY)

LET IT ALL GO

Clinging! Clinging!! Clinging!!!

Clinging so hard to nothing.

Plotting and planning, scheming and scamming

All in a bid to control the game.

The moment you think you are winning,

Something happens to throw you off your tripping.

You're jumping from one foot to the other,

 Always on tenterhooks,

And screwed up all the time.

Then I remembered the Master

And laughed at my foolishness.

 Why was I stressing myself,

When the Mahanta was in my corner.

 So, I smiled and relaxed

Letting the Master play the game.

 Thus, everything fell into place,

When I let it all go.

And got the Mahanta's love with me always

THE NIGERIAN POLITRICKSTER - A POEM

A very interesting personality

The sorrow of a people.

Totally devoid of morals

Ethically bankrupt and diseased.

Its level of physical self-destruction is appalling,

All in the name of power

It poisons itself daily,

Believing in one spiritual con-man or the other.

Even though it has stolen billions,

It is still a pauper.

This strange condition is guaranteed

By the poverty of its soul.

It has an ego the size of a skyscraper,

Yet with the fragility of an over-blown balloon.

Thus it can be reduced to nothingness

By the tiny pinprick of the truth.

Then it is exposed for all to see,

The joke that has pauperised millions.

An accident of fate

Crawling out of obscurity,

Where the worst elements in a society

Are the custodians of its power!

Thus is exposed

A very interesting personality

The sorrow of a people.

CHOICES! ALWAYS CHOICES!!

Happiness is a choice,

It’s not a consequence.

It cannot be given

It cannot be earned.

It’s nobody’s property,

Yet it is owned by all.

It’s there for all to see,

Yet almost everybody is blind to it.

So, what’s wrong with us?

Is it a matter of intelligence?

Or, are we such clods,

That we can’t see?

It’s all up to us.

Happy or sad,

Sad or happy,

A choice you must make!

THE BEST OF FRIENDS (POETRY)

Laziness and poverty

Two sides to a coin.

Those who are poor

Are too lazy to be rich.

Those who are lazy

Are too poor to think rich.

In this way,

Laziness guarantees poverty and,

Poverty encourages laziness.

Laziness and poverty

Two sides to a coin.

SELF DECEPTION (POETRY)

 SELF DECEPTION

They can see it as clear as day,

It doesn’t have to be explained.

It’s there!

 Right before their very eyes,

Yet they seem as confused as drunken rats.

What’s wrong with my people?

Are they stupid, mad, or worse?

How can they claim not to see,

Something they can hear, smell and feel?

It all boils down to this –

Facts are facts

And the truth is truth.

Every son of man knows that,

Even though they try to say otherwise.

No man or woman makes love

To only one person in their lifetime,

If they live long enough, that is!

It’s the same way this goes.

Whether or not you like it so.

Only an idiot, thief, or confidence trickster,

Oh, yes!

Ever argues with plain truths and obvious facts.

The Bully And The Nag (Poetry)

A bully is a nag,
A nag is a bully,
There’s really no difference,
They’re one and the same.
A low self-esteemed creature.
A true coward by nature.
A fool reveling in false power,
Trying to make up for its obvious inadequacies.
A person of empty bluster.
A noisy barrel with no substance,
Externalizing internal misery.
Thus, a bully is a nag
A nag is a bully,
There’s really no difference,
They’re all one and the same.

LOVE AND FORGIVENESS (POETRY)

Loving is forgiving

Forgiving is loving

It is a selfish act

Only those who have the heart of a god,

Can understand the meaning of freedom.

Only those who understand the nature of the soul,

Can reject the seduction of bondage.

Loving is forgiving

Forgiving is loving.
